Celebration of Life honoring Rev. Lee Hardy Pervis Jr.
Lee Hardy Pervis Jr.(Cooney) 71, surrounded by love ones, entered peacefully into Heaven Gates on Sunday December 21, 2025.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 10:00am prior to the service. Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11:00am at New Fellowship Baptist Church, 1142 Tracy Lynn, Abilene, Texas. Burial will be at The Texas State Veteran Cemetery , 7457 W. Lake Rd, Abilene, Texas Monday January 5, 2026 at 11:00am
Lee was born August 13, 1954 to the late Lee Hardy Pervis Sr. and Elva Pearl Pervis. He was educated in the La Marque and Abilene public school system. He went on to attend Stephen F. Austin State University. Lee was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He also served as president of The Council of Black Organizations (CBO). His work history over the years included, Abilene Parks and Recreation, Abilene Women's Club, and his own lawn care and moving businesses. Lee was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church as an Associated Minister worked in the finance office and over the Culinary Kitchen for years. Lee served in the United States Army.
Leaves to cherish his memories are sons- Todd Starks and Master Lee Hardy Pervis III(Trey), daughter-Tricina Pervis Crain; sisters- Debra Pervis Foster(James), Bishop Lolita Pervis Tennon(Pastor Ronnie), 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nephews-James Lee Foster(Bumpy), Dwight Pervis Jr., and Lee Pervis; neice-Brittiney Jones(Kristopher); aunt Victoria Pervis;; forever life friends-Luther Willis Jr., Melvin Stephenson(Cheryl), Geroge Steed; a host of cousins, other relatives, friends, and The New Fellowship Baptist Church Family.
Preceeds him in death: his parents Lee Hardy Pervis Sr. and Elva Pearl Pervis; brothers- Mason Walter Pervis, Dwight Wayne Pervis, Minister Sylvester "Cecil" Pervis, and Vincent Edward Pervis; grandparents Alvin and Lola Samuels, great grandparent Henry Samuels; uncles-Deotis Pervis, Thomas, John Henery and Carroll Samuels, aunts Dorthy Bailey, Myrtle, Eldora, Senora, and Lucille Pervis.
