Kurt Gates

We mourn the passing of a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Kurt Robert Gates who departed from this world on March 4, 2024. Born on December 19th, 1971, at Hendricks Medical in Abilene, Texas, he was the cherished son of Linda and Robert Gates.

Kurt was a graduate of Wylie High School, where he left an indelible mark on those who knew him. He furthered his education at Cisco, graduating in 1999, showcasing his dedication and commitment to learning.

In the early 1990s, Kurt served his country with pride and honor as a member of the Army reserves. His service exemplified his patriotism and willingness to stand for what he believed in.

Known for his bright and sarcastic humor, Kurt had a unique way of bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Beneath his quick wit, he possessed a kind and sweet heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

One of Kurt's greatest loves was animals, particularly dogs. His compassion for these creatures knew no bounds, and his bond with them was undeniable.

Kurt will be deeply missed by his father, Robert Gates; his siblings, Kyle Gates and Kim Wombles; his brother-in-law, Rick Wombles; sister-in-law, Danita Gates; niece, Emma Gates; and nephews, Bobby, Lee, and Royce Wombles. His memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
