CMSgt Juan C
Hernandez Jr. USAF ( Ret)
Jun 24, 1951 — Sep 27, 2026
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Juan C. Hernandez Jr., on September 27, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on June 24, 1951, in Del Rio, Texas, Juan lived a life filled with love, adventure, and service. He dedicated 30 years as an Aircraft Chief Enlisted Manager for the U.S. Air Force before proudly retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. His commitment to his country was a source of pride for him and his family. Juan served in the Air Force from May 11, 1972 through June 30, 2002. During his time in the Air Force, Juan completed his B.A. at McMurry University and his M.B.A. at Hardin Simmons University. After his time in the Air Force, Juan started his next career working for the Social Security Administration office from February 2005 through February 2019.
Above all else, Juan cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Lupe Hernandez, with whom he shared 40 incredible years. He was a devoted father to Justin C. Hernandez (Francisca), Jacque' Hernandez (Chase McGill), and Jennah Jorge (Diego). He is also survived by grandchildren Justen Layla, Antonio Juan, Sera Sofia, and Abel Santiago who brought immense joy to his life.
He leaves behind his brother, Ricardo Hernandez (Maria), and has been reunited with his parents, Juan Sr. and Amalia Hernandez, as well as his brother, Santiago Hernandez.
Juan was a man of many passions. A true hobbyist, he thoroughly enjoyed working on cars, especially his beloved El Camino, which was a never-ending project that brought him great fulfillment. He loved traveling on bus tours, taking in sights from New York to Branson. If he wasn't on the road, you could find him revving up his motorcycle or strumming his guitar.
