Josephine Laney

Josephine Jo Laney, 85, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at a local Abilene hospital. Visitation will be 11:30 am till 1:30 pm Friday, October 31, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Her Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 31 at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Jo was born February 23, 1923 in Hearne, TX to Anton and Mary Karowski. She relocated to Abilene in 1983 where she spent her time being a housewife. She enjoyed spending time in her garden taking care of the flowers and had a true green thumb along with her love for growing plants. She also loved her cats and all cats had a home at Jos house.

Josephine is survived by her son, Frank Paul and wife Gayla of Abilene; three grandchildren, Tommy Paul, Brenda Colyer, and Jason Paul all of Abilene; four great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
