Johnnie June Freeman, 71, died Sunday, March 1, 2026, at her home in Abilene, TX.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 5, 2026 at Texas Veterans Cemetery, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home.

Born September 7, 1954 in San Angelo, Texas was the daughter of late Troy and Thelma (Holland) Eaton. She married Nolan Freeman on November 10, 2001 in Abilene Texas.

Johnnie (Junie) was a retired Executive Director of the Hamlin & Rotan Housing Authorities.

Junie was preceded in death by her parents and a son (Brad Bell).

Survivors include her husband, Nolan Freeman of Abilene, TX; one brother, Ricky Eaton of Abilene; two sisters, Mandie Brown & Drinda Childress of Abilene, TX; one daughter Angela Blocker of Fort Hood, Kentucky; two sons Landon Bell of Wylie, TX and Randy Bell of Abilene, TX; Six grandchildren: Toni & Tobi Blocker, Braxton & Brody Bell and Haizlee & Ivy Bell.

Johnnie was a very loving mother and Nana throughout her life. She would do anything for her children & grandchildren. She was a loving wife for over 25 years. She loved the going to the beach on the coast; her hobbies included collecting Guernsey Cows and sewing. She dreamed of traveling the United States in a pickup camper.

She will always be remembered, missed and celebrated by all the lives she touched throughout the years. She would not want us to mourn; but celebrate her legacy and honor her wishes for the fulfilling life she led.

She will be missed and loved as she loved the life with all the lives that she came into contact with.
