John Chenault

John Robert Chenault III, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 27, 2019 in Abilene, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the Thomas B. Hunter Masonic Lodge, 933 S.W. 2nd Street, Grand Prairie, Texas. Ordained Pastor Danny Zeier will officiate.

John Robert was born on June 29, 1936, in Wichita Falls, Texas to John Robert Chenault II and Leatha (McKnight) Chenault. He retired from the Texas Army National Guard with 21 years of service, where got the nickname “Cookie”, and fully retired from the City of Grand Prairie. He was a devout Pentecostal and an ordained Minister. John Robert was a 32nd Mason and will be honored by his lodge. He will always be remembered by his stories and love of fishing, his fancy skating, his sparkling blue eyes and his love of his family.

John Robert was preceded in death by his father John Robert, his mother Leatha and his daughter Cara Diane Chenault. Left to treasure his memory are his brother Jerry Chenault and wife Lyn, his Daughters Kimberly Ann Klodowski and Susan Johnna Murray, grandchildren Mathew Dobson, Timothy Dobson, Joseph Dobson, James David Richardson, Johnna Ann Ramirez and Joshua Charles Murray, great grandchildren Haven Dobson, Landon Dobson, London Dobson, Brice Dobson, Melanie Dobson, Xavier Luz, Eli Ramirez, Alexander Cole, Esmerelda Murray, Jonah Murray, Jacob Murray and Josie Murray, niece, Hontas “Honey” Rodriguez and nephew Sean Chenault.
