Joan Grubbs

Joan Marie (Piechota) Grubbs, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Texas on August 13, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  She was preceded in death by her parents Antone and Rose(Trond) Piechota.

Joan graduated from Taunton High School in 1963 and lived most of her life in her home town of Taunton, MA.  She was an integral part of FBInsure for over 30 years, starting with Phil Farrell at Farrell Insurance, migrating to Farrell Backlund and finally to FBInsure.  She formed lifelong friendships and was sorely missed when she retired.

Over the years she enjoyed many sports, most recently, golf.  She loved the beach and got close to the ocean every opportunity she had.  Traveling back and forth from Massachusetts to Texas to visit her girls was one of her MANY adventures.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Marshall of Taunton, MA and Jennifer (Scott) Garner of Abilene, TX, her grandchildren, Andrew, Owen and Allison, and her brothers, Joe Piechota and Tom Piechota.

According to Joan's instructions, there will be no service.  If you would like to honor her memory please do so by making a donation in Joan's name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.
