Jimmy Hardy

Jimmy Don Hardy, 82, of Abilene Texas, passed away on July 29, 2021 at his home. Jimmy was born on March 24 in Sweetwater, Texas to Jimmy and Irene Hardy of Snyder, Texas. After graduating from Snyder High School in 1958, he went on to Texas A&M. After leaving Texas A&M he enlisted in the Air Force, where he served 21 years for his country.
In 1962 he met Colette, and they wed in 1964, going on to have 2 children, Stephen Lane Hardy and Debbie Hardy Reynolds.
His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was very proud of Steve, Debbie, and Colette and always tried his best to support them. Jimmy was also a passionate golfer and could often be found working in his yard. Anyone who knew Jimmy knew that he was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather.
Jimmy was predeceased by His Parents, Grandparents, and many others. He is survived by his wife, Colette Hardy; his son, Stephen Hardy and wife Elizabeth of South Carolina; and a daughter, Debbie Hardy Reynolds of Snyder Texas; 5 grandchildren, Cody, Courtney, Carson, Lane, and Noah; and 1 great-grandchild, Luke-Henry.
The family requests that all flowers and notes be sent to Elmwood Funeral Home 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas 79606. There will be a visitation from 12 - 2 pm with a graveside service following at 2 pm on August 4, 2021.
