Jimmie Kyle Perkins, lovingly known as "Pop," left us on September 23, 2026, at the age of 92 in Abilene, TX. Jimmie was born on October 13, 1933, in Klondike, TX, to L.K. and Clarice Perkins.

Jimmie married the love of his life, Jean Hayes, in 1953, and remained a committed husband until her passing in 2013. Together, they extended their love for adventure, camping, and sharing the magic of Christmas with their family.

Jimmie was a steadfast father to his only daughter, Patti Oldham, and Son-in-law Pete. Cherished by his grandchildren, Morgan Oldham and Cassie Rambo (Brandon), he also embraced the role of great-grand poppy to Griffin, Ruby, Phoenix, and Indie. Pop's house in Amarillo was the ultimate gathering place, complete with the perfect driveway for riding bikes, roller skating, prepping motorcycles for the next race, and hosting Granny's epic garage sales.

Jimmie spent many years racing dirt bikes, sharing the thrill of speed and the beauty of the great outdoors with those he loved. He was proud to be a part of the Texas State Championship Enduro group and the Post Enduro Association in Turkey, Texas.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army, spending more than two years stationed in Germany. After retiring from a 30-year career as a United States Postal Service letter carrier in Amarillo, TX, Jimmie never truly slowed down. He later enjoyed framing houses alongside his brother, driving for the Panhandle Transit Authority, helping less fortunate get to their appointments, always ensuring he remained active. In his downtime, he could often be found woodworking, crafting beautiful birdhouses, and staying busy-much to the relief of Granny!

Jimmie loved fiercely and was passionate about his family and friends. He is survived by his brothers Johnnie and L.V. Perkins, his sister Deborah Payne, and countless friends and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife, sisters Claribel, Madie, and Faye.

In the hearts of those who loved him, Jimmie Kyle Perkins will forever remain a vibrant spirit, a source of warmth, and a guiding light. Rest in peace, Pop. You will be missed more than words can convey.
