Jane Haley Reed

Jane Ellen Haley Reed, 74, (of Abilene, TX) passed away, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Hendrick Medical Center South.

Jane was born on July 4, 1946 in Abilene, Texas to the late O.B. (Bob) Haley and Dorothy Korman. She was a graduate of Texas Christian University with a master’s degree in professional accountancy. Jane cared a great deal about her community and was a founding member as well as President of the Big Country Club of Altrusa International (a service organization she was part of for 38 years). She was inducted into the Harmony Family Services Hall of Fame and served 40 years on their board. She was also an 11-year member of the National Society for the Daughters of the American Revolution. Jane was recognized for 50 years of Licensure in the State of Texas as a Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). In addition, she was a charter member of Brook Hollow Christian Church.

Jane is survived by her brother, O.B. (Bobby) Haley Jr. and his wife Marlene; son, William Haley Reed; daughter, Ellen Sue Mason; 5 grandchildren, Kawika Mason, Kekoa Mason, Dixie Smith, Melody Smith, and Charlie Smith; cousins, aunt-in-laws, uncles, and dear friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her ex-husband William (Bill) John Reed and his parents (Fern G. Reed and William H. Reed) as well as an aunt, several cousins, aunt-in-laws, and uncles.
