James Robert Kilton, 76, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Elmwood Funeral Home Family Center, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery of Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road, Abilene, Texas.
James was born on September 24, 1947, in Lebanon, New Hampshire to parents Harland and Dorothy Kilton. He married his wife Jeanie (No Hui) on July 23, 1973, in Seoul, South Korea. James proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. He achieved his dream of attending college and obtained a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He retired from the US Postal Service in 2012. Beyond his military service, James was a man of many passions. In his leisure time, he found joy in simple pleasures like fishing, exploring the outdoors, collecting model cars, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family while traveling to new destinations.
James is survived by his wife, Jeanie (No Hui) Kilton; his daughters, Sujan Kilton and Julie Kilton-Snow of Abilene, Texas; his son James Kilton, Jr of Canyon, Texas; his sisters, Betty McKenney (New Hampshire); Barbara Kilton (New Hampshire); his brothers, David Kilton (Louisiana); Brian Sweeney (New Hampshire); Kevin Sweeney (New Hampshire); 3 grandsons Jackson Snow of Canyon, Texas, Harrison Snow of Abilene, Texas, and Nicholas Kilton Stafford; and many other family and friends that loved him deeply.
James is preceded in death by his father, Harland Kilton; his mother, Dorothy Sweeney; his brother Gary Kilton; and his son, Nicholas Kilton.
James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
