Hermine Maria Pietzsch nee Hahn was born in Germany in 1935 at a very turbulent time in history and lived her first ten years as a little girl in a big war. During that time, she lost five brothers and sisters, knew hunger, and saw things no one should have to see. On one occasion, during a school outing, the Gestapo arrested her teacher, leaving all the third-grade children to find their own way home alone. And find her way home she did, becoming not only brave and resourceful, but also kind to those who needed help. She went on to work as a millenary once she came of age and met and ultimately married Fred in 1953. Leaving her home for America she raised five children in many different locations before settling in Abilene, Texas - a place chosen as one of the safest places in America. It was a good fit, living in the same house for over fifty years, where she enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking for family gatherings, and leisurely tea parties with first grandchildren, then great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the blessing of children and family in her life daily as she was the center of our universe. Survived by brother Adi with nephew Jurgen and niece Gabi and their families; brother Bernd and wife Edeltraud with niece Diana and family; Waltraud and family; Dieter and Irmi and family. Son Fred and wife Ruth; grandson Richard and wife Jenifer with great-grandchildren Aidan, Josiah, Lucas, and Nico; granddaughter Christine with great-granddaughters Amara Morgan and Rayna Rose; granddaughter Heather and husband John with great-grandchildren Tannis and Aniege. Daughter Marie Irene; granddaughter Stephanie, great-granddaughter Aidan, and great-great-grandson Axel: grandson Stephen and wife Katie; great-granddaughters Kaitlyn and Courtney. Daughter Monika. Son Frank. Son Franz; grandson Jarod; Granddaughter Elizabeth with great-grandson Jordan and great-granddaughters Addison and Annaleah; grandson Mark and wife Shelby with great-grandchildren Milo and Macie. Nephew Fred and wife Meri Lou with children and families; nephew Craig and family. And many more, also loved.

Preceded in death by beloved husband Fred, Mother and Father, six brothers and sisters, and many, many lovely people, all sorely missed.
