Halo Kapri Lackey
Born July 20, 2025 • Entered Heaven July 28, 2025
Our daughter, Halo Kapri Lackey, was born into the world on July 20, at just 23 weeks and 6 days. Though she was tiny in size, her spirit carried the strength of a warrior and the light of heaven. After 8 days of fighting with everything in her, Halo was called home to be with Jesus on July 28th.
When we gave her the name “Halo,” we didn’t know just how holy and heavy it would become. She now lives fully in its meaning—radiant in the presence of the King, glowing with a light this world couldn’t hold. She joins her uncle, Laken Lackey, in glory. And now, our dearest Laken has a piece of us with him in heaven.
Halo was a miracle, a true fighter! She overcame trials that most never do. She was baptized in the Holy Spirit, covered in prayer, and wrapped in love every moment of her life. Though she only lived for eight days, her life and her fight reached many. Halo had purpose and that purpose lives on.
She is survived by her twin sister Eden and older sister Londyn. Her brothers Laken, Kashten, Jaedon and Reilly. Her loving parents, Tyler and Kandis Lackey, as well as her grandparents Gene, Eliane, Laura and Iran. They will all carry her in their hearts for the rest of their lives.
A celebration of Halo’s life will take place at Wylie Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Saturday August 16th, followed by a graveside service at Elmwood Funeral Home on US-277 in Abilene, Tx.
Halo, Mommy and Daddy love you endlessly! We will never let you go, our precious baby. A piece of our hearts will always be missing until the day we see you again.
Even in our deepest pain, God is still good and Jesus is still King. We’re thankful beyond words for the time we had with our beautiful little girl — a life so short, yet so cherished!
