Guy Alexander Casselberry

December 22, 1988 — December 30, 2023

Guy Alexander Casselberry, known affectionately as Alex, left this world on December 30, 2023, at the age of 35, in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, located at 5750 Hwy 277 South.

Born on December 22, 1988, in Abilene, Texas, Alex was the beloved son of Guy Casselberry and Jodi Zachry. He was a proud graduate of Abilene High School, class of 2007, and later continued his education at Hardin Simmons University.

Alex's vibrant spirit and diverse interests defined his character. A self-proclaimed "nerd," he found joy in indulging his passion for video games, The Simpsons, and heavy metal music. In addition to his technological pursuits, Alex was a talented artist who found solace in sketching, creating beautiful works that reflected his unique perspective on life.

Beyond his individual pursuits, Alex cherished the roles of son, brother, uncle, and friend. His warm heart and infectious laughter made him a source of joy for those fortunate enough to know him. His kindness and loyalty endeared him to family and friends alike.

In a recent chapter of his life, Alex found spiritual fulfillment at Connect Church, where he embraced his faith and, most notably, gave his life to the Lord. This newfound connection brought him peace and purpose, and his spiritual journey became an integral part of his identity.

Alex leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and creativity. He is survived by his parents, Guy Casselberry and wife Ashley, and Jodi Zachry and husband Russell, his siblings, Jason Casselberry and wife Sara, and Marybeth Mccleery and husband Kel; his bonus siblings, Ashley Ausborn, Allison Bowling and husband William, Michelle Zachry, and Andrew Zachry; seven nieces and nephews; his memaw, Doris Zachry; his beloved fur baby, Duncan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Loyd and Mary Hazelton, and Luther and Mary Casselberry; and his niece Macy Bowling.

The family appreciates the support and condolences during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army of Abilene's CSRC Program in Alex's memory.
