Guadalupe Garcia

December 11, 1944 — March 8, 2026

Guadalupe Garcia, a beloved husband, father, and lifelong resident of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on March 8, 2026. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Isabel Garcia, and his cherished children, Lupita Hobbs, Irene Garcia, Lucy Figuieras, Corina Rodriguez, Guadalupe Garcia, Francise Reyes Garcia, and Pablo Hernandez. Guadalupe was deeply proud of his growing family, which includes 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Epifanio and Mercedes, and his siblings, Lucy and Benito.

Guadalupe Garcia was born on December 11, 1944, in Donna, Texas, and built a life defined by love, faith, and hard work. A proud and highly skilled truck driver, he dedicated many years to providing for his family. On February 16, 1980, he married Isabel Huerta Garcia, his soulmate and constant companion for 45 wonderful years.

Guadalupe was a devoted father and a deeply loving grandfather whose greatest joy was time spent with his family. His faith was central to his life, and his love for Jesus guided everything he did. He found happiness in attending church, cheering on his children and grandchildren at sporting events, traveling, riding motorcycles, bowling, playing softball, and faithfully supporting the Dallas Cowboys. Music was close to his heart-he played bass guitar and lovingly passed that passion on to his children, each of whom learned to play an instrument.

At age 40, Guadalupe experienced a life‑changing commitment to Jesus Christ. For the next 30 years, he and his wife faithfully shared the gospel, served their local church, supported missions, and devoted themselves to intercessory prayer. He continued to worship through music, playing bass guitar in church services. Their ministry was a blessing to many, offering hope through the Word of God, and Guadalupe loved Jesus with all his heart, mind, and soul.
