Gertrude Bronner, 97, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 in Odessa, Texas. A visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. A graveside service will be 9:00 AM, Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Abilene City Cemetery, 1133 Cottonwood, Abilene, Texas.
Gertrude was born July 15, 1924 to Enoch and Linnie Day, in Coleman, Texas. On February 8, 1941 she married the love of her life O.L Bronner and the couple had a very blissful marriage until the untimely death of O.L in June 15, 1980. Gertrude worked at the Triangle Bowling lanes in Abilene for a short time. After her husband passed Gertrude moved to Odessa and worked as a waitress at Po Jo's and finally retired at 70 years old. A few of her hobbies included crocheting, and bowling. She enjoyed watching golf, football, Nascar, westerns, and animal planet. More than anything Gertrude loved her family and spent every day loving them well.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Enoch and Linnie Day; her husband, O.L Bronner; her daughter in law, Donna Bronner; three sisters, Wadean Green, Billie Baldock, Carol Mitchell, and her brother, Sam Day; two granddaughters, Patricia Bronner, and Kim Johnson, both of Doniphan, Missouri.
Gertrude is survived by her children, O.L Bronner Jr. of Abilene, Texas and Danny Bronner and wife Rhonda of Odessa, Texas; eight grandchildren, Tammy Miller and husband James of Odessa, Texas, Cindi Bronner of Abilene, Texas, Shawn Bronner of Savannah, Georgia, Roy Lammons of Odessa, Texas, Danna Church and husband Billy of Odessa, Texas, Debbie Portwood and husband Larry of Doniphan Missouri, Tommy Bronner of Norfolk Virginia, and Lonnie Donner of Tulsa Oklahoma ; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchilren.
The Pallbearers will be, Ronnie Underwood, Rocky Underwood, Rodger Brannan, Sam Day, Roy Lammons, and Shelby Boone.
