George Edward Morris

George Edward Morris was born Joji Nishitani on January 9th, 1958 in Gotenba-shi Japan. Adopted by Frank and Paula Morris, George began his journey traveling the world, as his father served in the United States Air Force, eventually leading him to Abilene, TX. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1975, and married the love of his life, and wife of 50 years, Cynthia Maxwell. That same year, George enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served for 17 years, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 1992. George built an ever expanding family with Cindy, adding 4 children, Amanda Morris Graves, Tony Morris, Cory Morris, and Cheyenne Morris.

Grandchildren Gabriel Jordan, Xavier Graves, Keanu Graves, Aiden Morris, Darrion Williams, Logan Williams, Addie Morris, Allison Morris, Jordan Morris, Allyiah Narvaez, Michael and Isaiah Narvaez. Great grandchildren Gabriel Jordan Jr., Giomani and Geremih Jordan, Annaleah and Xaire Graves, and Cairo Williams. He had numerous nieces and nephews branching from the Maxwell sisters who became sisters of his own, Pam Sites, Karen Hamilton, and Debbie Mackey as well as those he called his own Deon Graves, Melissa Morris, April Morris, Destinee Jordan, Valeria Hernandez, and Arianna George.

Visitation will take place at the Elmwood Funeral Home Family Center on May 29, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, where attendees may come to pay their respects and share fond memories.

A memorial service to honor George's life will be held at the Oak Street Church of Christ on May 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating his memory.
