Frankie
Himly
Feb 8, 1937 — Sep 3, 2026
Frankie Ruth Himly, born February 8, 1937, in Lexington, South Carolina, danced her way into heaven on September 3, 2026.
Frankie, also known as “Mamaw” or “Skeeter”, brought a whole new meaning to living life to the fullest. Frankie made the greatest decision of her life in February of 2018 when she said yes to Jesus.
She brought a smile to everyone’s face with her outgoing, magnetic personality. Frankie truly never met a stranger. She had the ability to talk to anyone, anywhere, and leave the conversation with a new friend.
Frankie’s love for people of all ages was unmatched, but she held a special place in her heart for her great-grandkids and great-great-granddaughter. Even though her body had trouble keeping up with her youthful, energetic mind, she still found a way to be active and playful when they would visit.
That love did not end with people. Frankie was an avid animal lover from her two dogs, Johnny and June, to the neighbor’s donkey, Happy. She loved them so much she risked her life saving a rat from her pool, knowing she could not swim. Not a wise decision whatsoever, but the love runs deep with this one.
1 Peter 4:8 tells us, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
Frankie would tell you she wasn’t perfect, but she took 1 Peter 4:8 to heart and loved deeply. She truly was one of a kind. Though she is gone, the love and memories she gave us will remain forever.
As George Strait would say, “When I’m gone, put it in stone, ‘she left nothing behind,’ I ain’t here for a long time, I’m here for a good time.”
Frankie is survived by her three sons, Scott Ritchey, Frank Ritchey, and Rick Ritchey along with their spouses, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandbaby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Himly, her daughter, Shanda Ritchey, four sisters, and one brother.
