Elizabeth Eilene Nix, 71, passed away on August 5, 2026, in Abilene, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas.

Elizabeth was born on April 13, 1955, in Beaumont, Texas, to John and Geraldine Bowdon. In 1976, she married the love of her life, David Nix, and together they shared many years of love, devotion, and cherished memories until his untimely passing in 1998.

Elizabeth found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time gardening, where she nurtured beautiful flowers and plants, and she enjoyed the fellowship and fun of square dancing. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and cuddling with her little dogs.

A faithful member of Broadview Baptist Church, Elizabeth's faith was an important part of her life and was reflected in the kindness and compassion she showed to those around her.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and the warmth she shared with family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.

She will be deeply missed and forever lovingly remembered.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Geraldine Bowdon; her husband, David Nix; and sister, Mary Bowdon.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Nix, and Matthew Nix; two granddaughters, Seraphina Nix, and Reese Nix; and her brother, Lee Bowdon.
