Elridge John Nunez Sr. (E.J.), 79, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on February 1, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on July 21, 1944, in Crowley, Louisiana, he was the son of George Nunez and Velma Henry. A celebration of life will be held 3:00 PM Friday, February 9, 2024 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene, Texas.

E.J. embarked on a journey to Texas in pursuit of work opportunities, where he made a significant mark in various industries. He dedicated his career to serving in roles at Pool Well Service, MP Petroleum, Intradrill in the Middle East, and as a Plaster and Wald Consulting within the oil industry. His dedication, work ethic, and expertise earned him respect among colleagues and peers.

Beyond his professional endeavors, E.J. found immense joy in life's simple pleasures. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished moments spent fishing and hunting, finding solace in nature's beauty. He also had a passion for golfing, relishing the camaraderie shared on the green. In his pursuit of creativity, he and Wanda went to Indianapolis and took classes in gallery glass, deriving satisfaction from the intricate process.

However, above all else, E.J.'s greatest source of happiness was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. His presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him, and his unwavering love and support enriched the lives of all who knew him.

E.J. will be remembered fondly for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones and his work. While he may have departed from this world, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Emma Lou Lejeune, and Sue Wilde; and his brothers, Paul Henry, Wilton Henry, and Bobby Landry.

E.J. is survived by his wife, Wanda Nunez; his children, Jacquline Blair (Frank), and E.J. Nunez, Jr. (Nicole); his grandchildren, Addy Blair, Trace Blair (Shelby), Nick Williams (Rhanda), and Delani Moore (Jack); great grandchildren, Callen Blair, Cole Williams, Brynlee Williams, Noah Williams; siblings, Jerry Nunez (Arlene), Charlotte Seymar (Walter), Fay Armentor (Dale), May Henry (Ray), Martha Jean LeBlanc (Joe), and Roger Dale Landry; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Tunnel-to-Towers, Foundation, or St. Jude.
