Douglas Ray Alexander

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Douglas Ray Alexander, who left us on November 30, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on March 4, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, Douglas led a life defined by dedication, love, and service to others.

After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force in 1975, proudly serving his country until his retirement in 1992. Following his military career, Douglas continued to exemplify loyalty and hard work, serving as a driver for Helena Chemical from 1995 until his retirement in 2020. In a true testament to his generous spirit, he then supplied cartons of milk to children in local schools as a delivery driver for Oak Farm Milk Company, ensuring that many little ones would start their day with nourishment.

A loving husband and devoted father, Douglas cherished the time spent with his beloved wife, Ilona, who preceded him in death, as they navigated life’s adventures together. He found profound joy in his role as a father to his son, David Alexander, and beautiful daughter Kristel Anne Cooley who also preceded him in death, Son in law Waylon Cooley and was a grandfather to his precious granddaughters, Adalynn and Makayla Cooley.

Douglas also leaves behind his brother, Steve Alexander, and sister, Sharon and husband Kenneth Fletcher, along with many nieces and nephews. He held a special place in his heart for his cousin, Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, who not only became a cherished friend but also a loving caregiver during his final months.

While he will be greatly missed, his legacy of kindness and commitment to family will forever be remembered.

In a ceremony honoring his military service, military honors will be presented at 1:00 PM on December 18, 2025, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Douglas's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
