Donald "Lynn" Johnson-Navy Seaman

Donald "Lynn" Johnson, 76 of Abilene Texas passed away July 28,2023.

Visitation will be held Tuesday August 1, 2023 from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home Family Center at 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral Service will be held at Elmwood Chapel Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 9:30 AM. Graveside to follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery of Abilene at 11:00 AM at 7457 Westlake Road.

Lynn was born in Abilene, Texas to Velmaree and Lee Clyde Johnson on June 24, 1947. He was the youngest of three children. He was a Navy Seaman from 1964-1967. During his time, he was a POW, in the Vietnam war. After obtaining his freedom he was awarded 3 honors which were National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal (with device) and the Vietnam Service Medal.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Velmaree and Lee Clyde Johnson; his brothers, Will Johnson and Larry Johnson.

Lynn is survived by his beautiful wife Cecilia Johnson of Abilene, two daughters Jamie Upchurch and Amie Upchurch. One grandson, Noah Lou Upchurch of Texas, one granddaughter, Samantha Blackburn of Abilene.
