Donald Casey

Donald Ray Casey was born on March 28, 1936, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to David and Ola Casey. On November 22, 2025, he gained his wings at the age of 89 at LA General Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be December 19, 2025, 11:00am at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday, December 18, 2025, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Elmwood Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery of Abilene, 7457 W Lake Rd, Abilene, Texas at 1:00pm.

At the age of two, the family moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where Donald attended Wendell Phillips Elementary and Northeast Middle School. In 1952, he moved to Los Angeles, California, with his father and later graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School on June 17, 1955.

Shortly after high school, Donald joined the United States Air Force. He trained in San Antonio, Texas, and was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas. While stationed there, he met the love of his life, Alberta Sanders. After dating for about a year, they married on December 28, 1956, in Abilene.

Donald worked for Dunlap Sales for more than 20 years. After completing his military service, he returned to California to care for his parents and rededicated his life to the Lord at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs, playing football and dominoes/cards, listening to music, and performing his well-known pocket dance. Donald also loved to cook and to share meals with family, friends, and anyone in need of food, drinks, or cigarettes.
