Denise Lathen

Denise Lathen, 60, of Abilene, Texas passed away November 28, 2020. A visitation will be held 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, December 4, 2020 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 5, 2020 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Denise was born August 16, 1960 to Cecil and Dorothy Lassiter in Abilene, Texas. She graduated from Cooper High School. Denise met Ben Lathen when she was in eighth grade and the couple was married on April 29, 1978. Denise was a long term employee of Lawrence Hall in Abilene. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed making jewelry and crocheting but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her four grandchildren. Denise was very loved and will forever be missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Cecil Lassiter.

Denise is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ben Lathen; her daughters, Brandi Olson and husband Ryan, and Blake Skinner and husband Mark; four grandchildren, Paige Olson, Payton Olson, Cullen Skinner, and Charlotte Skinner; her mother, Dorothy Watson and husband John; and her siblings, Steve Lassiter, and Tamera Claybrook.
