David Paul Williams, 61, met Jesus on August 4, 2025, after a swift and tough battle in the ICU, surrounded by the ones he loved most: his family.
Dave entered this world on April 12, 1964, in Chester, CA, to Carol Sue Lewis. Carol met Willard "Van" Williams when Dave was a toddler, and Van quickly stepped into the father role with four kids, including Dave and his siblings: Debi, Diann, and Danny. He spent most of his early life in the Oroville/Chico area.
Dave met his wife, Laura, in 1990 when he showed up at her door to complete a work project at her home. They married a year later at Morris Chapel in Stockton. Their marriage spanned over 3 decades and resulted in 3 children: Jessica Nicole Williams (34), Amanda Courtney Angell (33), and his only son, Christian Joseph "Joey" Williams (31). The two enjoyed taking trips to Cancun and eating at the latest restaurants and food trucks. He was always checking the internet for their next adventure.
Dave was a hard worker all his life, lending his talents to the construction field. He was a carpenter, project manager, and estimator for many companies, including Nelmar Construction, Eagle Construction, Delta Bay Construction, and his last employer, Paradise Design of CA. His family wanted for nothing as he worked hard to ensure they had everything they needed.
In fact, Dave always showed up for his family, whether he was playing with his kids in the mud, sending his daughter off to college, welcoming the birth of his grandkids, or visiting his son after basic training. He was a planner and made sure every summer was full of numerous family trips to amusement parks like Great America and Disneyland (always giving the spinning teacup ride 100% power). He introduced his family to the joys of camping, loved replaying the same America and Sade CDs on roadtrips until they annoyed his kids, and enjoyed preparing meals (like steak) for his family to enjoy.
But most of all, he loved the ocean. During the many trips throughout his life, he showed his family the best seashells to look for, explained what driftwood is, and reminded everyone to "not touch or poke the slimy stuff." Dave felt most at peace by the ocean. His family likes to think that was when he felt the closest to God.
Dave was a cherished son and brother, survived by his mother, Carol Sue Williams, his two sisters Debi Iliff and Diann Stanfield, his brother Danny Williams and many nieces and nephews. He's now with his father, Van, in heaven.
A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Dave is also survived by his wife of 33 years, Laura Williams, and children: Melissa Rowe (43) and her husband Kenny, their two children, Bradley Eugene (7) and Kenzie Sue (5), Jessica Nicole Williams, her two children, Onyxkai Neaneu Williams (6) and Amaya Sunshine Williams (4), Amanda Courtney Angell and her husband Chris, and his son, Joey Williams. They all miss him dearly.
Dave was immensely proud of his kids and all they accomplished. In cards, calls, texts, emails, voicemails, and in person, he made sure to let them know how proud he was of them.
He once told his daughter, "Success is not what you are doing but who you are in Christ." Dave knew and loved Jesus with all his heart.
A private celebration of life service will take place at Dave and Laura's home on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 2 PM.
