David McKinley Dukes, 43, of Abilene passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 in Abilene.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1:30 PM at the Northwest Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 10:30 to 12:00 PM at Northwest Church of Christ prior to the funeral service.

David was born on February 15, 1976 in Abilene, Texas to Jimmy Dukes and Catherine Burton Dukes. He worked at BMC Construction Materials formerly Abilene Lumber for almost 20 years. David loved movies and comic books. Spider Man, Dead Pool, Avengers anything related to Marvel comics he was a fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and had traveled to preaching engagements with his father since he was 4 years old. David was a member of the Jeanette Street Church of Christ in Breckenridge, TX.

David is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Catherine Dukes; sister, Catena Williams and husband; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents and his honorary brother and best friend, John Wooden.

David will be served by his honorary pallbearers, Shawnta Coleman, Natasha Bahlman, Sheila Harston and all his cousins.

In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900 Arlington, VA 22202 and the American Kidney Fund, WWW.kidneynation.org.
