Clinton Travis French, 71, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024. A celebration of Clinton’s life will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Church of the Nazarene Trinity, 3342 State Steet, Abilene, Texas.
Clinton was born on March 5, 1953, to Forrest and Helen French in Ballinger, Texas. He graduated from Paint Rock High School and went on to study at San Angelo State University.
On June 22, 1973, Clinton married the love of his life, Jean French, with whom he shared 51 beautiful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
Clinton's hobbies reflected his joyful spirit and creative nature. He loved spending time outdoors, particularly fishing and boating, and he found great joy in building and gardening. His sweet tooth was no secret—he was known for his love of sweets and onion rings. Clinton had a knack for humor and brought laughter into the lives of those around him as a big-hearted jokester. Family vacations held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the memories created on those trips.
A dedicated member of his community, Clinton served as a foster grandparent for local schools, bringing guidance and warmth to young lives. He was also an active member of the Church of the Nazarene Trinity, where he served on the board for many years.
Above all, Clinton’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather. His legacy of love, laughter, and selfless service will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Helen French; his brother, Edwin French; and his niece, Melissa French.
Clinton is survived by his wife Jean French; his children, Michele Rodriquez, Travis French and his wife Jolynn, Sonya Huggins and her husband Marcus, and Demi Blanchard and her husband Billy; his grandchildren, Bret Rodriquez, Jesse Rodriquez, Michael Harman, Austin French, Garrett French, Breanna Huggins, Heather Huggins, Tyler Huggins, Shelby Huggins, and Neveah French; five great grandchildren; one brother, Glyn French and his wife Cindy; fur babies, Muffie, and Buffy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Clinton will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
