Christopher Daniel Garcia (54), of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, with family by his side. Christopher, fondly known as Chris, was born to Mary and Dan Garcia on March 16, 1969, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was raised in Abilene, Texas and attended Cooper High School. Chris was devoted father to his son, Dylan and loving son to his mother, Mary. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan and his maternal and fraternal grandparents. He is survived by his son, Dylan from Abilene, Texas; and his mother, Mary, from Midland, Texas. He is also survived by his two sisters, Madeline Salcido from Midland, Texas, Cyndi Ortega from Monahans, Tx; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chris was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he always enjoyed watching football games with friends and family. He loved attending family gatherings and barbecues. Chris enjoyed listening to his son play his violin. Chris learned to appreciate classical music during their road trips; though he did not have a favorite piece, he always loved the pieces that his son played in. On Friday, January 19, 2024, Chris's family will host a rosary at noon with a service and reception to follow thereafter. All services will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home in Abilene, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
