Charles N. Wade said “goodbye” to this earth and went to sing with God’s heavenly choir on January 3, 2021. Charles was born in 1928 in Sweetwater, Texas to Auldon (A.A.) and Montie Maurine Wade. Charles was a resident of Denton, Texas and a member of the North Texas Church of Christ.
Charles attended Abilene Christian College and graduated from Texas A & M in 1949. He married Annette Forgay in 1947. Charles had many interests and talents that included a love of serving others. His donations of time and financial support generously aided Christian evangelical and benevolent ministries. He was the President of the First State Bank in Monahans, Texas from 1968-1998. Charles served as President on the Monahans school board and went on to serve as the President of the Texas Association of School Boards. Charles enjoyed traveling with Annette after retirement.
Charles is survived by his wife of 73 years, Annette (Jere) Forgay Wade; his children Mike Wade, Catherine Rice (Grady), Melissa Hunter (Paul), John Paul Wade and Stephanie Picquet (Mike); four grandchildren and four great-grand children. Charles is also survived by a sister Montie Mary Spaulding (Bob.)
A funeral service is set for Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Elmwood Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with a graveside commitment service at Elmwood Memorial Park immediately thereafter. The funeral service will be live-streamed and also available for viewing at a later date on the Elmwood website.
