Charles L. Hines Jr.
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Hines Jr., age 54, of Abilene, Texas, on May 3, 2026. Born on November 18, 1971, Charles was a beloved son, husband, and friend, whose life touched many in the Abilene community.
Charles will be remembered most for his unwavering devotion to his faith and family. He served as a faithful greeter at Holiday Hills Baptist Church for many years and attended New Life and Hope for over two decades. His deep love for his wife, Michelle Hines, and his mother, Mary Hines, was evident to all who knew him. Charles was an only child, and he cherished the values instilled in him by his beloved mother, whom he often referred to as "Momma," in a testament to the strong bond they shared.
In addition to his love of family and faith, Charles had a passion for his community, operating his own lawn service and leaving a positive impact on those around him. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially honoring his Southern roots with good fried chicken and spending time with his sweet fur baby, Lola. A great example of love and kindness, Charles touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on May 13, 2026, at 5:00 PM and ending at 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home Chapel, allowing family and friends to come together to honor and celebrate Charles' life. A funeral service will follow on May 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the same location. The service will be available via Encore Live streaming through social media for those unable to attend in person. Charles will be laid to rest close to his father in garden of Grace, at Elmwood Memorial Park 5750 HWY 277 South, Abilene, TX, where he will be forever remembered in the hearts of those he loved.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Charles Hines Jr., we invite all who knew him to share in the love and compassion that he so freely gave to others. In his memory, let us strive to embody the values he cherished and continue to spread kindness in our own lives.
