Charles H. Burns, 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 31,2023 in Abilene, Texas. He was born in Abilene, Texas to Jim Burns and Murel Burns on May 20, 1942.

Charles was a kind, loving man, one who never made a stranger! A man who, you met and adored immediately. He enjoyed talking with people. Being a great storyteller, could identify businesses, and buildings and stories about, through the history of Abilene and Wylie area. Charles served his country in the Army National Guard.

Harvest Baptist Church was like another home for Charles. He enjoyed the people in the congregation as well as Pastor Roy' sermons. You could find him there on most Sundays and Wednesdays for services.

Charles loved to watch sports on TV and was a huge fan of the Texas Rangers, but you could find him watching all local high school football, the Cowboys or any sport he could find on TV.

As part of the community, Charles was able to coach his boys in the Little League team when they were younger, then continued coaching after the boys had moved to high school.

Charles was married in 1964 to Patsy New -59 years of marriage. Charles is survived by his wife, Patsy Burns; daughter Debbie Lang; his son, Charles Jeffrey Burns and wife Valerie, His son Roy Burns and spouse Judith; grandchildren, Kortney Lang, Jarad Lang, Lindsey Scrivner, Caitlin Burns, Ryan Burns, Juan Burns, and Tea' Burns; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.

Charles pride was his family. He loved and adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They always made him smile.

Charles is preceded in death by his son, Charles Glen Burns; brothers, Dan Burns and Carol Burns; his father, Jim Burns; his mother, Murel Burns.

No services to be held per his request. The family would like to thank you for all the calls, texts, and communications of love, support, and prayers.

He will be deeply missed by all who loved him very much.
