Bob Stuerzenberger of Abilene, 82, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at his home.
Bob was born on July 26, 1925 in Sikeston, MO to Peter A. and Sarah E. Wilson Stuerzenberger. He was proud to have served in the United States Navy as a radioman during World War II and the Korean War. He married Bettifriend, BF, Sypult on October 18, 1949 in Flora, IL. He moved to Abilene in 1965 with Presto Corp. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies at Abilene Country Club and shared his love of golf with his wife and two sons. Bob was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church; and he served as a volunteer for St. Vincent De Paul Society Thrift Shop.
He is survived by his sons, Paul and wife, Susan Stuerzenberger of Abilene, and Tim and wife, Kathe Stuerzenberger of Bedford; brother, James and wife, Donna Stuerzenberger of Owensboro, KY; five grandchildren, Chelsea Christensen, Cortnie and husband, George Guerra, Camden and wife, Amelia Stuerzenberger, Emily and husband Matt Butler, and Megan and husband, Geoff Whitley; one great grandchild, Gwyneth Averi Butler; and Gus, his faithful canine companion.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Bettifriend BF on April 3, 1999.
Serving as pallbearers are Camden Stuerzenberger, Matt Butler, Billy John Edwards, Orbin Tice, Blake Woodall, and George Guerra.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society, 1241 Walnut, Abilene, TX 79601 or to charity of choice.
