It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Matthew Cole, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Brian was born on September 23, 1986, in Landstuhl, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, while his parents were stationed in the United States Air Force at Sembach Air Base, Germany. Upon relocation to the United States from Germany, Brian attended Mount Olive Lutheran Daycare and Learning Center in San Antonio, Texas, for pre-school and kindergarten. His public education began in Abilene, Texas, where he attended Bassetti Elementary, Madison Middle School, and Cooper High School. He enrolled and completed several college courses with Columbia College at their satellite campus in Fort Worth, Texas.

Wanting to learn outside of the classroom, Brian dove into the world of wind energy where he learned, practiced, and sharpened his skills with several wind companies with duties ranging from from construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting to balancing his body over 300 feet above the ground while making repairs on wind turbine projects. His last assignment was an extended work project in Oregon where he focused on troubleshooting wind generators.

Brian was, from an early age, quite gregarious and outgoing, sharing his zest for life with his many friends both near and far. Brian had a magnetic personality which complemented his stunning appearance and refined demeanor around others.

Brian had a passion for traveling, discovering new places, and creating unforgettable experiences. He thoroughly enjoyed exploring new areas and traveled extensively throughout the United States always sharing those experiences with his family. He routinely delighted his mother with sights and sounds of new areas and cultures.

Love of family was deeply ingrained in Brian's life. He shared a very special bond with his parents and was devastated at the early loss of his father, Malcolm Carl Cole, in January 2013. As a true animal lover, Brian had a remarkable heart for dogs and genuinely loved all the dogs he had over his lifetime. Brian leaves his current canine companions, Doobie, Mary Jane, Pippin, Little Fella, Bojangles, and Biscuit, to sadly wait for his return through the front door.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to West Texas Rescue the Animals honoring his charitable spirit and love for furry friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Cole. He is survived by his mother, Carole Cole; stepfather, Carey Pittman; sister, Melissa Cole; brother, Kevin Cole; nephew, Kyler Cole; and niece, Natalie Cole; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will hold a graveside service to celebrate Brian's life at a later date in Abilene, Texas.

Brian will be greatly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
