Billy Golleher

Billy Ray Golleher, (Wild Bill), Beloved father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend was called home to our Lord in Heaven on August 18, 2021.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 US HWY 277 S., Abilene, TX 79606.

Billy was born at his home, 1373 Oak in Abilene, TX on December 19, 1937, to the late W.G. Golleher and Wrethey O. Strickland Golleher. He was the youngest of 11 brothers and sisters. He received machine shop training in high school and worked at Smith pipe for years until he retired.

Billy married Jerlene Baker Golleher in 1956 and raised three wonderful children. Billy dedicated his life to raising his children. He was so proud of his grandkids and great grandbabies. Though he had a host of brothers and sisters his heart belonged to his nieces and nephews. Billy enjoyed spending his free time at the racetracks racing his U2 race car. He also loved singing for his friends as Bill Golleher and The Outlaw Band.

Billy is also preceded in death by his siblings, Lilly Fannin (James), James Golleher (Imogene), Woodrow Golleher (Eva Leta), W.G Golleher (Bea), Marie Booth (Ray), Dorothea Murry (Cecil), Walter Lee Golleher, Edna Brown (Jack), Frank Golleher (Barbara), Shirley Gale Golleher, Paul Golleher (Shirley); son in-law, Rick Gonzales.

Billy is survived by his children, Jo Dena Gomez (Julian), Alan Golleher, Melinda Golleher; grandchildren, Anna Gonzales (Keith), Jessica Martinez (Tony), Randa Hewitt (Curtis), Addy Edgar (Aaron); five great grandchildren, Xalyn, ethan, Addison, Lane, and Ana; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
