Bill Pierce

September 21, 1934 — August 13, 2021

William C. Pierce (Bill), 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend was called to be with his Lord in Heaven on August 13, 2021. Bill was born on September 21, 1934 in Brownwood, Texas, the son of Clive and Ruth Pierce. He is survived by his wife Karen Pierce, his son Brad Pierce, son Greg Pierce and daughter-in-law Carrie, and his grandchildren Taylor, Colton and Jackson.

Bill is remembered as an outstanding athlete and student at Abilene High School, graduating in 1953. He was a star two-way playing receiver and defensive end on the Eagles' football team, a lightning quick guard on the basketball team, and star pole vaulter on the track team. His senior year at Abilene High, Bill won the Millerman Award as the Eagles' Most Outstanding Athlete.

Bill proudly served in the military as a Captain and Dentist in the Air Force in the early 1960's in Clovis, NM. He and his family then returned to Abilene where he started a successful dental practice, sharing his love of Jesus and his Christian wisdom with patients for 35 years.

Dr. Pierce was also an active elder and leader at Abilene Bible Church, and a volunteer dentist in the Prison Ministry after he retired. He loved spending time with his wife and family at Brownwood Lake where his slalom skiing was legendary.

To be closer to the family and watch their grandkids play sports, Bill and his wife Karen moved to Sun City in Georgetown in 2012. They became active members at The Worship Place Church, and Bill quickly became a friend and mentor to many in their new community. Dr. Pierce will be remembered for his love for others, his optimism and joy for life, his love for the Lord, and his favorite saying, "It's all about Jesus".

A graveside service will be held on Monday August 16 at 1:00 pm at the Elmwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests you send a donation to the charity of your choice.
