Betty Marie Pierce, aged 80 of Abilene passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. She was born to her late parents James William Burnam and Vivian Marie Burnam on August 16, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas.
Betty was a housewife who raised her four boys on Miliary bases across the country. In her free time, she taught free-hand ceramic painting courses and was known nationally for her talents. She was an avid-animal lover who enjoyed caring for strays her husband would bring home. Along with her husband, they served God through a local prison ministry program helping incarcerated men find their way to Christ. Betty loved life and enjoyed spreading the word of God to everyone she met.
Betty was predeceased by her loving husband of forty-five years, Raymond Andrew "Duke" Pierce, her son, David Andrew "Dave" Pierce, her brother, James Allen "Jimmy" Burnam, her grandson, William Stanford "Billy" Pierce Jr., and her grandson in-law, Alvaro Lopez.
Betty is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law: Bill Pierce, Dan Pierce and his wife Sherry, John Pierce, and his wife Blanca. She is survived by eight grandchildren: Cherie Pierce Lopez, Maranda Freeman and her husband Jacob, Casey Pierce and his wife Kelly, Jonathan Pierce, Wendy Gonzalez and her husband Cody, Allison Frazier and her husband Dalton, Christian Pierce, and Kristin Pierce. She is survived by five great-grandchildren: Zoe, Mila, Zaila, Zion, and Savannah.
A celebration of life will be held at Elmwood Memorial Park on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM, 5750 US HWY 277 S., Abilene, TX 79606.
