Anthony "Tony" O. Woolf, 79, passed away May 28, 2025, in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral services will begin immediately after visitation at 2:00 PM.
Tony was born on July 12, 1945, in Hamlin, Texas, to William Henry and Beulah Estell Woolf. The youngest of seven boys, Tony grew up surrounded by the strength and spirit of a close-knit family. He attended Hamlin schools, where he built lifelong friendships and began forming the values that would define his life.
After school, Tony pursued a career as a truck driver-a job that reflected his hardworking nature and sense of responsibility. A man of few words but steady character, he was devoted to his family and took pride in providing for those he loved.
Tony found joy in the simple things: quiet evenings, the open road, and Friday night lights. He was a dedicated fan of the Hamlin Pied Pipers, rarely missing a game, always cheering them on with heart and hometown pride. Tony also enjoyed time with his dog, Charlie. Both were devoted friends from the day Charlie came into Tony's life, and if you saw Tony, you usually saw Charlie by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Estell Woolf; and five brothers, Floyd Woolf, Preston Woolf, Doug Woolf, Lewis Woolf, and Morris Woolf.
Tony is survived by two sons, Ricky Woolf and Coty Woolf and wife Jaclyn; five grandchildren, Hailie McCown and husband Quinton, Anthony Woolf, Hannah Woolf, Jade Woolf, and Estella Woolf; two great-grandchildren, Navy McCown and Lennon McCown; one brother, Waylon Woolf; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
