Martha was born December 23, 1956 to Aubrey and Leta Mercer in Lakeland, Florida. She moved to Abilene, Texas when she was 3 years old and grew up a Texan. She attended Taylor Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, Abilene Christian High School, and Abilene High School. Martha worked and was well respected as an LVN for many years. Her favorite nursing job was with Concepts of Care Home Health, where her gift of giving to others and her caring nature enabled her to share her talents. She truly had a heart for caregiving and was a blessing to many by being their caregiver. Her children, grandchildren, and God were her everything and she loved them more than anything. Her friends, sisters, and their children were very dear to her and very much a part of her. Martha was very loved and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kimberly Hines; Siblings, Eileen Barnes, Clinton Mercer, and Laura Alsdorf; three brother in laws, Milton Dunn, Scott Alsdorf, and Bill Hale.

Martha is survived by her son, Dr. Jason (Toby) Moss and his wife Carrie; seven grandchildren, Jacob Hines, Dante Moss, Tatum Hines, Lexie Hines, Kelsie Hines, Mason Moss, and Jaxon Moss; son in law, Quincy Hines; siblings, Mary Hale, Margaret Dunn, and Loretta Luster; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jason and Carrie, my heart breaks for ya’ll. Everyone who knew your mom as a friend, relative, co worker or just an acquaintance was bless that she touch their lives in only the way she could. I know Christmas she was so sweet and kept telling me “ thank you so much for sharing your home and the Mason family with me”. I told her she was family and I hope she realized that. The missing and wanting to talk to her will always be with you so remember to do that. She will be listening. The missing never goes away we just learn to live without those we have lost. I love you and yours so much . I’m sorry I can’t be at the service but y’all ate in my heart, prayers and every thought. Hugs to everyone !!

Martha was a sweet cousin and she always had a kind word to brighten the day. She loved her children & grandchildren more than life itself. Family was always important to her. She always had a deep love for her brother & her sisters. There will be a huge void in our lives until we meet again.
