Roxcie Ann Mitchell-Sumner passed away suddenly after battling ongoing health issues on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Abilene, Texas. Roxcie Ann was a beacon of light to those who had the privilege of knowing her, a devout Christian that honored her Father with every breath, and a loving and nurturing Mother always there in support of her two children, La'Chelle and Landon.

Roxcie Ann was born on April 14th, 1945 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She grew up and attended high school in Portsmouth, Virginia and attended college at William and Mary. Later, she worked as a dental assistant in Florida, where she also modeled professionally for several different agencies. Roxcie Ann, fell in love with and married David Wayne Mitchell (D.W.)in the spring of 1969. While living in Virginia, they started a family by welcoming their daughter, La'Chelle Tamara Mitchell into the world. In the mid-1970s, D.W., Roxcie Ann and La'Chelle moved to Brownwood, Texas and welcomed their son (brother), Landon Wayne Mitchell. She served as President of the Woman's Club and the Rotary Ann's in the 1980's, and she also helped build the Budweiser Distributorship (Mitchell Beverage) in Brownwood, Texas.

''Foxy Roxy'' or ''RAM'', as known by her family and friends, always made time to bring a smile to everyone's face. She always made sure that everyone was having a good time and felt comfortable while putting the needs of others in front of her own. Roxcie Ann found joy in and could often be seen reading her Bible, enjoying the precious company of her children or bringing a smile to those around her.
