Corky you always kidded your brother and sis saying I loved you more and they didnt care. Maybe it was because they always know in their heart you needed it more. I know its been a year but to me it feel like yesturday. This will be the first Christmas I will actually feel your gone. You always thought that I spend too much of my time working and not enough time enjoying live. Boy, you were right I did miss out on so many things thinking their will always be time to tell you more about life. I know its too late for you but Im trying not to do that as much. My reason was the promise I made to you and your brother to never let you down. I tried my best maybe it wasnt enough but who knows. My youngest baby boy you sleep. Time will soon pass and someday soon Ill be there to wake you so we can share more long talks together. MHG
What a wonderful young man Jorge was. He was a blessing to our lives and he is missed terribly. Loving and kind are only two of the words to describe him. I miss his laugh and his hugs. RIP Jorge.

Daughter of David R. Herrera On behalf of my father, I am sending this message. My father passed in 1993 and has been missed as part of Mary Helens family and brother. Just like Jorge, we miss him terribly but HE LOVED JORGE VERY MUCH and spent time with him on many occassions. Jorge and him were very close. My father knew him, as a very talented and bright kid. In addition, I witnessed the same young talented man with many sincere and thoughful gestures. I remember a very shy person till you asked him a question and he would open his knowledge to everything he knew. There were no limits in Corkys world that I can remember he was humble and brave. I know whereever he sits his music is heard. And with this memory, we know that he was loved and cherised by everyone. Eventhough Corky was far he was family and will be missed by those who remember him as a kid with UNLIMITED dreams and visions. On behalf of myself and David Herrera, we send our love and condolences to Mary Helen, BeBe, Vanessa and Elia aunt and sister. That we remember the sound of a guitar and remember Corky as we knew him. I will keep everyone in my prayers with a special for prayer Mary Helen. Mary Helen, may you find your strengh again through memories of his strengh. You are loved. God Bless us all and keeps us safe.
With love your Niece,
Diane Herrera cc: David R. Hererra your brother 2008

Growing up with Jorge was a blast He was funny and had a great smile. In school everyone knew Jorge and everyone liked him. We used to roam the halls of Abilene High together and just have a good time even when he didnt feel like being there : . He was very smart, and very sweet. I have fond memories of Jorge whom I met about 4 years ago when my brother Rudy and I went to Abeline to visit Tio Jesus Herrera Jorges grandfather and my uncle. Jorge was in high school at the time and there a few things that left an impression on me.
One is that he reminded me of my son Ruben Daniel Herrera. His built, skin tone and that baseball capmuch like my son.
Also, I observed how attentive he was with my Tio Jesus Jorges his grandfather. This impressed me very much.
I remember we sat on the couch in their living room as my brother and his mom talked in the kitchen. Jorge and I had a very candid conversation about life, God, religion, politics, things that were going on with him in school and what was driving me in getting to know my Texas extended family. He asked me many questions and challenged me on some of my beliefs. We both shared from the heart and listened to each other with attention and intention. I left that conversation feeling very connected with him. I left a different person. It was the one and only time I had seen my dear cousin. I will never forget this moment.
While we as family are separated in time and distance, for me all it took was being in that moment to be reminded the power and magic of life, of family and of having a conversation that matters.
Gracias Jorge. Thank you for that gift. Please, those who were close to him. I want you to share with me about Jorge. Look me up on Facebook.
