Brian Forrest Yancy, 43, of Abilene passed away on Monday, July 21, 2008. His memorial service with the Reverend Derrell Patterson officiating will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1741 Sayles BLVD.

Brian was born on August 15, 1964 in Colorado City to Forrest D. Yancy and Loyce Milford Yancy. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1982 and attended Tarleton State University. He was a self-employed contractor and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He loved his family and had many friends.

He is survived by his mom, Loyce Yancy of Abilene; a sister, Cindy Johnston and husband, Tim of Plano; a brother, Bruce Yancy and wife, Linda of Eden; nieces, Kelly Broyles and husband, Ben of Abilene, Kimberly Yancy of Abilene, and Allison Johnston of Plano; nephew, Tim Johnston, II of Abilene; as well as an aunt, uncles and cousins.

His father and his grandparents preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the donors charity of choice.

    My prayers and love go out to my extended Yancy family during this difficult times. Brian was a wonderful and heartfelt cousin that will be truly missed. I just came across his picture from his dads funeral a couple of weeks ago. Forrest and Loyce have increditable children. I truly believe God had a plan for Brian in heaven. May Gods comfort come quickly to Loyce, Cindy and Bruce. All my love and support to everyone. We all lost a wonderful person.

    I am truly sorry for your loss. I havent seen Yancy for a while but I worked with Forrest and have know Brian for 20years. He was a good kid, hard working and fun to be around. My prayers are with you during this time.

    Not only was Brian loved by so many people, he was counted on by so many people...you needed help, you called Yancy...you had a building project, you called Yancy...you wanted a hunting partner,fishing partner, camping partner..you called Yancy. Some might say he was a little rough around the edges, but no matter what the situation, behind that rugged, wheathered face of his, you would always get that slow, gradual, kind smile.
